Living a Dream
- and I want you to as well... -
Excerpted from an interview in Money Maker's Monthly
For over 15 years, Taylor
Hegan was a successful registered pharmacist, owning three
pharmacies and serving as administrator of a hospital
pharmacy. However, he has not filled a prescription since
1985.
In place of filling prescriptions, he is now a
full-time "dream fulfiller," helping others to design lives
they love and furthering wellness and anti-aging with an all
natural synergistic botanical system approach.
Dreams,
one by one, have been designed, implemented, and replaced, as
Taylor has prospered financially year after year, through
reaching out and helping others.
When asked what a
typical day in the life of Taylor Hegan might be, he
responded, "Well, if my wife Eileen is on one of her
book/speaking tours, I have to pinch hit and feed her trained
ducks on our 'Lake of Dreams' before I can do anything
else."
"Then I generally work out for a bit before
starting to dial for dollars, working our business right from
the comfort of our business complex sitting on our estate
grounds."
"Much of our business is handled through
phone conversations, faxes, and voice mail. We still execute
the basics of retailing, sponsoring, training, and support all
the time. We retailed over $500 in product today, for example,
right out of our office, although most of our retail orders
are drop-shipped directly by the company we work."
We
then asked Taylor what he considered the most important skill
for successful network marketing. As usual, he thought awhile
before he responded.
"Well, people need to be
coachable, positive, and action-oriented. They must have a
belief of unshakable laser-beam focus, the kind that does not
fade after a month or two."
One of the tools that
Taylor encourages everyone to use in his training is the
Wealthbuilders Guidebook ... How you can get rich in today's
marketplace , an inexpensive collection of MLM secrets written
by his wife, Eileen Silva. "People need tools with action
plans," he emphasizes, "that are practical, cost-effective,
and easily implemented."
"This is a business," he
points out, "where if you are on track for greatness, you will
probably build your business just like a ground cover grows:
first it sleeps (the learning stage), then it creeps (the
action of developing your business), and finally it leaps (the
mature momentum stage)."
"As Eileen and I define the
different recruit types, it really is not only possible for
someone to design his or her income in networking, it is
actually important to so. After all, if you don't know how
much money you're going to earn, how in the world can you make
intelligent money management and business promotional
decisions? My experience," Taylor added, "while vice president
of a leading financial institution certainly opened my eyes
about why some people persistently create wealth while others
never seem to have enough. I went from being a person who
really had no amount of money I couldn't outspend, to being
much happier and financially free, without effort implementing
newfound financial insights."
And speaking of being
financially free, since Taylor and his wife have earned well
over seven figures in the last three years in this industry,
we wanted to know what has brought him the most pleasure in
his self-designed lifestyle.
"Well," he said, "that's a
tough one. I just love flying my children in for the weekend.
It was great sending Eileen to the World Series year after
year. She finally saw her team, the Atlanta Braves, pull it
out ... and best of all, my son Trey got to go to all those
games with her."
"Let's not downplay the importance of
sending Eileen to her favorite spa after a grueling road trip.
Or how vital it was to purchase the estate for
her.
"But I suppose - no - I'm sure the most incredible
gift the industry has given me was the opportunity, when my
74-year-old mother became critically stricken with cancer, to
drop everything and go to her bedside. I stayed in hotels and
remained with her for quality time during those last four
months until her death. Our residual income business never
missed a beat, and best of all - since I'm the president of my
own company - I didn't have to worry about job
security."
We asked what closing words Taylor would
like to share about his business.
With a smile, Taylor
said, "Network marketing is fun, an equal opportunity and
rewarding business for all. Choose your sponsor as carefully
as you can, always be on the lookout for a few top quality
people that can follow your leadership, mentor from the most
successful you can find, and never, never, NEVER give
up."
